Summary

Sheldon teaches Leonard how to understand football while a kite-fighting incident threatens Howard and Raj's friendship.

Episode Outline

I. Stairway, Saturday afternoon, 31 October 2009

• The guys are on the way to go outside for kite fighting, when they meet Penny, who's about to watch the Nebraska Cornhuskers' football game with some friends.

II. park

• Leonard and Sheldon are kite fighting against Howard and Raj.
• Leonard is wondering why Penny doesn't want her friends to meet him.
• When Raj suggests a particular kite move to Howard, the latter becomes distracted by a passing female jogger. He hands his kite over to Raj and goes after her. Raj loses his prized Patang to Sheldon.

III. Leonard's car

• Raj is deeply angry with Howard, while Leonard is still pondering why Penny didn't invite him to watch the game.

VI. Penny's apartment

• Leonard tells Penny that he'd like to meet her friends and thus gets invited to watch the football game the following Saturday.

V. Living room, Sunday afternoon, November 1 2009

• Leonard and Raj are watching a football game trying to understand the rules.
• Howard turns up and Raj, still angry at him, leaves.
• When Sheldon reveals that he knows football due to growing up in Texas, Leonard begs Sheldon to teach him.

VI. kitchen of apartment, Saturday afternoon

• Sheldon is making Cylon toast, when Leonard turns up, dressed in a Nebraska Cornhuskers jersey about to go over to Penny's to watch the game. They discuss Leonard's motivation to understand football.

VII. Raj's apartment,

• Howard turns up to apologise to Raj, but the latter only accepts after a rather long argument.

VIII. Penny's apartment, Saturday afternoon, November 7 2009

• Leonard is trying to blend in with Penny's friends while watching the game.
• Sheldon turns up to get some more bread and offers Leonard an excuse to leave the party. Realising he had only watched half of the game, Leonard happily accepts.

IX. La Brea Tar Pits

• Raj and Howard are enjoying time together, when another women distracts Howard. This time, Raj lets him chase after her.
