(first half of the first season)

• Louie/Louise moves out of apartment 4B

• Penny moves into apartment 4B (0101)

• Leonard tries asking Penny out for the first time. The 'date' doesn't go particularly well, in part because Penny doesn't realise it's a date. (0103)

• Dr. Eric Gablehauser is hired as head of the Physics Department at Caltech. Shortly thereafter, Sheldon gets fired. (0104)

• Three weeks later, during a visit from Sheldon's mom, Sheldon is rehired. (0104)

• Leonard tries asking Leslie Winkle out for the first time. Even the asking part doesn't go well (0103).

• 9 October - Leslie comes on to Leonard during a string quartet rehearsal (0105)

• 16 October - Sheldon decides that Tuesday night will no longer be Big Boy night, but instead will be Cheesecake Factory night (0105)

• 27 October - Penny's Halloween party. Penny, who is quite drunk, kisses Leonard. Raj hooks up with a chatty girl from the party who says he's "such a good listener!" (0106)

• Penny's skanky friend Christy comes for a visit. (0107)

• Raj discovers that he can talk to Penny if he's drunk (0108).
