Name: Dr. Stephanie Barnett Occupation: Surgical resident at Fremont Memorial Hospital

Leonard's girlfriend for awhile. Sheldon was delighted with her, calling her "Doctor Stephanie", and referring to her as the 'McCoy' for their 'landing party'. After a few weeks, Stephanie moved in with Leonard, although he didn't even realise it until Penny pointed out that she'd replaced some of his things with hers. He felt that things were moving way too fast for him and he eventually sent her a text suggesting that it would be better for their relationship if she moved out. She apparently did move out, and probably broke up with him entirely, because she was not around the next episode (which was the Christmas episode).

Stephanie was a chance for Leonard to learn that just because someone loves you, doesn’t mean you’ll love them back. It’s a big piece of growth for the Leonards of the world to make the decision to wait for the person you want instead of going with the person who will have you. I hope he’s making the right choice.
