Sheldon and Leonard went to the High-IQ Sperm Bank to raise some money to get fractional T-1 bandwidth in their apartment. They chickened out, however.
Nearly the ultimate in fast Internet connection, T1 is a dedicated communications line with twenty-four channels. Typically, a customer rents some of the channels available, in other words, a fraction of the total, hence 'fractional T1 bandwidth'. This service is quite expensive; it can cost over $500 a month.
