Gupta, Lalita

Pretty young Indian woman in her mid-twenties who grew up in the same neighbourhood in India as Raj and used to kick him and call him "untouchable". He remembers her as being very overweight at that time.

In the end of 2007, she is no longer overweight. She is a dental student at the University of Southern California. Her mother and Rajesh's mother arrange a date between her and Raj. The date takes place in the Cheesecake Factory and goes rather wrong because a Raj drinks one grasshopper after another in order to be able to talk to her, and behaves rather obnoxiously. Even worse, Sheldon unintentionally ends the date when he tells Lalita she reminds him of "Princess Panchali", a character from the children's book "The Monkey and the Princess" Sheldon's mother had read to him as a child, then leaves with her to have dinner and talk (0108).

She is played by Sarayu Rao.
