Haroon and Tanvir

A gay couple who Raj's parents know in India. When Leonard and Sheldon are first introduced to her as living together, Raj's mother assumes that they are "just like Haroon and Tanvir" who just adopted a child. Leonard quickly stepped in to tell them that they were not like Haroon and Tanvir, but later when he realised that they, along with Howard, were getting excited about watching Fiddler on the roof, the Broadway musical, on DVD, he muttered that maybe they were like Haroon and Tanvir after all.

NOTE: This is a running gag in the show, where geekiness is confused with stereotypical gay traits, such as liking musicals or being sensitive to a woman's feelings (0117) (Leonard, after comforting Penny and her hugging him and leaving to make up with her boyfriend: "Maybe I am her gay friend ...").
