Monkey and the Princess, The

An Indian folk tale read to Sheldon by his mother when he was a child. The princess of the title is Princess Panchali.

The book doesn't actually exist, although there are trickster tales of monkeys throughout folklore, and Panchali is the title of Draupadi, the Princess of Panchal.
