Open science grid computer

A new system of interconnected computers in universities and science labs all over the world which gives scientists an "interconnected computing infrastructure" providing "a massive infusion of computing power and storage capacity to solve large, data-intensive challenges in science" (University of Wisconsin-Madison News, http://www.news.wisc.edu/12927).

In April of 2008, the Caltech Physics Department didn't have an open science grid computer, which to Dennis Kim meant that Caltech wasn't the best physics research facility in the country (0112).

Just a little over half a year later, in January of 2009, the Department had acquired an open science grid computer. Leonard falsely believed that Kripke controlled access to computer, prompting Sheldon to try to make friends with Kripke.
