Physics Bowl

Annual competition in the Physics department at Caltech.

Usually Fishman, Chen, Chaudury and McNair field a team, but not in 2008 when they form a barbershop quartet and get a gig at Knott's Barry Farm.

Instead Leonard, Howard, Rajesh and Leslie form a team called "Perpetual Motion Squad", short PMS. They wear light blue T-shirts imprinted with red "PMS" at the front and with red "We can go all night" across the back.

They compete against the "Army Ants", short AA, team consisting of Sheldon, the janitor, the "lady from the lunchroom" and "her son or her butcher" (Sheldon: "my Spanish is not good"). They wear uniforms designed by Sheldon based on Star Trek the original series uniforms with "AA" printed on the left side of the chest. Sheldon's shirt is "command gold" while the other three wear "support red".

The 29th Annual Physics Bowl in 2008 would have been won by AA with 1250 to 1175 points. However, Sheldon refused to accept the janitor's correct answer worth 100 points and so PMS won with 1275 to 1150 points.
