RTÉ Two

RTÉ Two is an Irish television network, owned by the state broadcaster RTÉ. RTÉ Two is the second oldest station in the country. RTÉ started in 1960 as a department of the Irish government. By the 1970s, there was much discussion about a second TV network in Ireland, it was decided that RTÉ should operate this new channel. When the channel launched in 1978, it mainly simulcast programming from the BBC & ITV, the British broadcasters. The channel was relaunched in 1988 with a new design and new programming as Network 2. In 2004, the network reverted to its original name RTÉ Two.

RTÉ Two airs much American programming, including The Big Bang Theory, The Simpsons, Law & Order, 90210, Grey's Anatomy & Desperate Housewives.
