In "the Lizard-Spock-Expansion" 0208 Sheldon suggests an alternative to rock-paper-scissors because players that are familiar with each other will tie 75-80%. The extended rules are as follows:
- scissors cuts paper
- paper covers rock
- rock crushes lizard
- lizard poisons Spock
- Spock smashes scissors
- scissors decapitates lizard
- lizard eats paper
- paper disproves Spock
- Spock vaporizes rock
- rock crushes scissors
Because the rules are a balanced extension and every object has the same chance of beating other objects (2 out of 5) the game is as good as the original, but unlikely a little bit more complex.
