At age 13, Sheldon had a fit when the government wouldn't let him have yellow-cake uranium for a nuclear reactor in the shed, so he locked himself in his room and built a sonic death ray. According to his mother, it "didn't even slow down the neighbour kids" but that it "pissed our dog off no end".
