The antique-looking radio on the shelf in Leonard and Sheldon's living room is in fact a Spirit of St. Louis "Field radio" FM-TV-1/AM/WB-TV2 Cassette Player, designed to copy the look of the instrumentation on the famous plane "The Spirit of St. Louis" flown by Charles Lindburgh.
