Star Trek

Science fiction television show (USA) with a huge world wide fan base.

It started in the 1960s with Star Trek: The Original Series, which depicted the adventures of the crew of the starship Enterprise on its mission to "explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, [and] to boldly go where no man has gone before." The Enterprise is commanded by Captain James T. Kirk. The first officer is Spock.

Spin-off Star Trek series are Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. In addition, there are (as of 2009) eleven Star Trek movies. Many novels, comic books, model kits, and other memorabilia have also been produced.
