Talk:Panty Pinata Polarization
I'm truly hoping somebody will read this and send an answer to a question I have regarding the reference Penny makes in mocking Sheldon. She says "oh honey, the busses don't go where you live, do they?" I'm usually the guy who laughs hysterically at small references used in humor when nobody else got it. Now I see how aggravating it can be to NOT KNOW the reference. Which bus? What bus? Whose bus? When did busses get thrown in the mix? And what does it mean if the busses don't go where you live? Is this a specific reference to a specific horror flick or something? Or is it a comment on how some bus-drivers won't go down certain roads? (Not that I'd know. I don't frequent busses.) So, will someone please have pity on me and tell me just WTF she meant? Please?
Hi there, I'm not a native speaker, but I took this as an English phrase that means the person referred to (here:Sheldon) is someone living far far away from civilisation, therefore not knowing general things. Why don't you post that question over in the forum, I'm sure there're some native speakers that will give you an answer?!
Cheers, Antonia
Yeah, that sounds exactly right.
