Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving in general refers to a festival celebrating and expressing gratitude for a good harvest.

In the United States and in Canada, it is a public holiday, celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November (US) or the second Monday of October (Canada), respectively. Traditionally, family members and friends gather for an evening meal, preferentially turkey.

On a Thanksgiving before the year 2007, presumably in 2006, Leonard's grandmother spent the holiday in Leonard's and Sheldon's apartment. She is suffering from Alzheimer's and happened to shed off her clothes during her stay, an event which Leonard and Sheldon would rather like to forget (0101).

Penny usually goes home to Nebraska to spend the holiday with her family, but in 2009 she stays in Pasadena and invites the guys for dinner. Howard usually spends Thanksgiving at home with his family, where his mother cooks her famous turbriskafil. Raj usually is invited and comes along (0304).
