Wrath of Khan
The second of the Star Trek movies, in which Captain Kirk faces one his arch enemies, Khan Noonien Singh.
In a famous scene Khan tells Kirk and his crew that they will be left alone on an uninhabited moon, to which Kirk responds by yelling "Khaaaaaaaaan". While he yells, the viewer sees first his face, then the surface of the moon and last the moon from out of space. This scene is mimicked by the end of The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary when Sheldon yells "Wheeeeeeatooooon". Not so loud, but still very angry, Sheldon repeats that scene near the end of The Wheaton Recurrence. Also, the camera pulls out from Sheldon's face, his voice echoing, all the way out to a view of the planet Earth in space, just as it pulled out to a view of the planet in the original movie, as Kirk's voice echoed.
Several famous quotes from Khan were used by Sheldon during the Mystic Warlords of Ka'a tournament in the Comic book store in October 2009, when he faced one of his personal arch enemies, Wil Wheaton (0305):
- When he explains to Stuart and Raj, what bothers him about Wil Wheaton-
Sheldon: He tasks me, he tasks me, and I shall have him.
- When he signs up for the tournament-
Sheldon: From hell's heart, I stab at thee.
Note: This quote from Khan is in return a quote from the character Ahab from the novel Moby-Dick [1].
- When he sees Wil Wheaton during the tournament-
Sheldon: I've chased you around the moons of Nibia and round the Antares melestrona and round Perdition's flames.
- When Raj tells him to stop quoting Wrath of Khan, he not only quotes, but also imitates sound and gestures of Khan-
Sheldon: Silence!
- Finally, during the end of the tournament a desperate Raj uses a modified quote of Khan, trying to motivate Sheldon to beat Wil Wheaton and win the game-
Raj: From hell's heart, stab at him!
